Tifo Design for Los Caballeros Reales – Real Salt Lake Home Opener 2025

For Real Salt Lake’s 2025 Home Opener, I collaborated with Los Caballeros Reales' Tifo Council to design a striking, medieval-inspired stadium display. The process involved multiple iterations, refining elements to enhance visual impact, legibility, and thematic resonance with the supporters' culture.

Design Evolution:

• The initial concept used a deep red background with the phrase "This is OUR Place."

• A white background was introduced to facilitate painting on large fabric.

• After feedback, we explored multiple slogans, including "Our Home, Our Riot" and "The Riot Reigns."

• The final choice, "Start the Riot," captured the energy and passion of the supporters, aligning with Real Salt Lake's "RioT" branding.

Final Design Highlights:

• A knight figure stands strong, evoking loyalty, strength, and defiance—core elements of the supporters' identity.

• The mountain range represents Utah’s iconic landscape, grounding the design in local pride.

• A royal blue shield with a crowned lion ties the imagery to Los Caballeros Reales, reinforcing their heritage.

• Bold medieval typography ensures high visibility from the stands.

• The color balance between red, gold, blue, and white creates a dynamic, regal aesthetic.

This project demonstrates my ability to blend supporter culture with bold visual storytelling, creating a memorable matchday atmosphere for Real Salt Lake.

Public Display:

This design was commissioned for the March 1st Home Opener for the Real Salt Lake 2025 season. There it will be raised and displayed before the game to the entire stadium at America First Field and the Apple TV MLS Season pass viewers at home. Images of the final display will be included after that date.
